Drupal - Remove the question mark in the url

If you prefer having static URLS, e.g.

  www.MySiteAbcd.com/node/13

instead of dynamic URLS, e.g.

  www.MySiteAbcd.com/?q=node/13

you have to enable "clean urls" in admin > settings. Hence navigate your browser to

www.MYWEBSITE.com/?q=admin/config/search/clean-urls

and click on

  Run the clean URL test

If the clean URL test fails, try the tipps on the drupal.org site. For me at first the test failed, because I accidently forgot, when setting up drupal, to also copy the .htaccess file.

If the test passed, check "Enable clean URLs" and click on "Save configuration".
